Can I get a 50??? and a giveaway!!!!

50 posts!!!!

Holy moly, I cannot believe

A. I have stuck with running long enough to write about it 50 times

B. I still have people who read about my crazy antics and my running

C. That 5 months ago I scoffed at the idea of exercising, much less writing about it!!

But, with all that said I am proud to have made it to 50 and even more proud that I have been running for 5 months!!!

Sooo to celebrate I am going to tell you 5 random things about me and then tell you about an awesome giveaway because I like you all that much :)

1. I am a May baby, so I love all things may, including the weather, my birthday, cinco de mayo, mothers day, memorial day...you name it if it is in may, I am game! and if you were born in may you will be super-loved by me!

2. The decision I questioned you about the other day (baby or no?) has been made! You will have to stay tuned (and following) to find out the outcome :P

3. All of a sudden I have a weird urge to have extremely intense workouts! For whatever reason it makes me feel like a weakling complete badass. Seriously, today I did Shred with Jillian then I ran 4 of the 5 miles I had planned (it got dark fast),I am completely exhausted exhilarated.

4. hmmmmm the numbers 13.1 are really starting to take over my mind!!

5. I REALLY appreciate all you readers and commenter's it totally makes my day, it is my own little escape right inside my own house!

Now on to the good stuff you know you want these babies!

  1. My favorite distance is the half marathon, because you can use the speed of a shorter race, but you have the time and distance to make some decent moves/surges throughout the race.

  2. May is wonderful because Mother's Day is in it, and our mothers are all so wonderful.

    ReplyDelete
  3. So far I've only ran 10k and 5k so out of the two 10k is my fav because it feels like you're in it long enough to be worth the money you paid for it :) however...these long distances are growing on me as I get near my half marathon...

  4. Why isn't May a great month. A whole day dedicated to drinking margaritas and eating awesome food ;), cool enough to open the windows, but warm enough for shorts, and of course it's the month that preceeds my birth month so it can be cool too. :)

    ReplyDelete
  5. I love the half marathon. It's long enough to be challenging, but short enough to allow for a strong training plan while balancing everything else in life.

    ReplyDelete
  6. I love May because 15 years ago in May I married my best friend - and I still like him after all this time!

    ReplyDelete
  7. I'll just say my favorite distance is a 5k. I'm running my first one this Saturday, but my long term goal is a half marathon

    ReplyDelete
  8. I am already a loyal follower! Congrats on 50!

    ReplyDelete
  9. I like May because it is the start of summer break and as a grad school student, I definitely need that break!

    ReplyDelete
  10. I like 13.1 for now since its the the longest race I did last year but I have a full marathon planned for October! I am already thinking 26.2!

    ReplyDelete
  11. My fav distance is my 50k trail ultra. I don't think I ever had so much fun in a race! The atmosphere was completely different from other race I have run. 12 marathons and counting, loads of other races of a variety of lenghts so I have a lot to compare it to. It was probably the trail/ultra aspect that made it so enjoyable.

  12. Linky love coming your way with my next post!

    ReplyDelete
  13. Why is May wonderful? This year, easy! May 1st and I already ran a trail race!

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete

  16. I tweeted about this giveaway!! I love recovery socks!

    ReplyDelete
  17. I love May because we can finally shed our winter running gear and get down to shorts/skirts and short sleeves. That alone brings down the pace.

    ReplyDelete
  18. My favorite distance is 10 miles - long enough to give me an endurance push, and a doable one with kids. It's short enough that I can add some speed to it.

    ReplyDelete
  19. I have only ever raced 5Ks and and overnight Relay....running my first half soon though...so I guess my fave distance right now is 5K, but we'll see as I get more adventurous and try new distances.

    ReplyDelete
  20. It is the greatest month because it's my Birthday too! Happy Birthday to me and you!

    ReplyDelete
  25. i love may because the sun is up so many hours of the day but its not as hot and humid as may...

    ReplyDelete
  26. My favorite race distance is 15K. It's long enough to get really going, but short enough not to get too worn out!

    ReplyDelete
  27. May is the greatest month, because I'm a teacher; and I'm on the verge of summer break!

    ReplyDelete
  28. I linked! Thanks for so many chances to win. I love recovery socks!!!

  30. Congrats on sticking with running for 50 posts. I totally agree that May is the best month too. May baby here (actually today is my birthday) and I'm all about celebrating it with cinco de mayo :) All of the flowers are in bloom and everyone is gearing up for a relaxing summer. Just a wonderful month all around. I'm not entering the giveaway--just wanted to say here's to another 50 posts :)

    ReplyDelete
  31. I'm a follower of your blog.

    ReplyDelete
  32. I'm still figuring out which race distance is my favorite. I rarely race, so it makes it hard to pick a favorite. I really like runs that are 7-10 miles…so maybe I should try a 15K to run sometime.

    ReplyDelete
  33. May is great because it is your birthday month. Otherwise, it is the beginning of gardening season around here. I love gardening even more than running.

    ReplyDelete
  34. New follower, Shelly sent me:)

    ReplyDelete
  35. I'd say the half marathon, just because it makes me feel accomplished.

    ReplyDelete
  36. October is my favorite month, the weather is perfect down South, and the leaves are changing. And my little girl was born in October too.

    ReplyDelete
  37. May rocks because it's also my Dad's birthday month. And it's that perfect pre-summer time before it gets stiflingly hot.

    ReplyDelete
  38. I've only done 5k and a 4-miler. I liked the 4....hoping to do a 10k or 2 this fall, and then maybe a half in December.

    ReplyDelete
  39. I'm posting this on my blog.

    ReplyDelete
  40. I like the 10k... and I hope to make the marathon my favorite in Oct.

    ReplyDelete
  41. I like May because (it is your birthday) school is almost out and I get my kids back!

    ReplyDelete
  42. May is the best month because it is the month that my first baby was born!

    ReplyDelete
  43. My favorite race distance is the 8K. It usually takes me 3 miles to feel warm up and by that point in the race I usually feel like I can push it for the last two!

    ReplyDelete
  44. Congrats on 50 and all of your accomplishments! I am a follower!

    ReplyDelete
  45. My favorite distance..hmmm....I guess I should say 5K since that is what I'm about to run! :)

    ReplyDelete
  46. I love May because my only son was born in this month! And also Memorial Day marks the beginning of summer for me!

    ReplyDelete
  47. I think my favorite distance is the 10K. I feel my best between miles 4-6. A 5K is too short because I am just getting warmed up when it ends.

    ReplyDelete
  48. I like May because the flowers really start to pop and the world is full of color. I love seeing the plants come alive on my runs.

    ReplyDelete
  49. i guess my favorite race distance is the 5k since it is the only distance i have actually raced. :)

    ReplyDelete
  50. May is the greatest month because my wedding anniversary is May 16th.

    ReplyDelete
  51. I have only run one half marathon (used it as a training run, so ran 7 miles before), but I loved it!

    ReplyDelete
  52. May is the best month because this is the month I graduate with my undergrad degree. Woot!

    ReplyDelete
  53. My favorite distance is the half because it gives me time to warm up...but not so much time running that I'm too pooped to vacation when we are done.

    ReplyDelete
  54. I love may because it is the start of sitting outside on the patio in the evenings with friends

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  58. May is the month before my birthday...that is why I love it.. I also love that the weather is getting warmer but not too warm.

    ReplyDelete
  59. lol about #4 :) bring on 13.1!!

congrats on 50 posts! great giveaway - i already have 2 pairs of recovery socks so i will leave this for someone else to win - they are awesome!

    ReplyDelete
  60. I haven't run a race yet, so I'm gonna say a 5K is my favorite, because it's the shortest :)

    ReplyDelete
  61. Besides being your birthday month, May is also the birthday month of my two youngest daughters, my mom, my grandma and my best friend!

    ReplyDelete
  62. I've linked to your giveaway on my sidebar!

    ReplyDelete
  63. So far the 1/2 is my favourite, but that's just because I haven't run the marathon yet. :) I love pushing myself to run that far - not that 5/10k's aren't great, but they're over so fast - and I get "me" time for 2 hours!

    ReplyDelete
  64. May is great because of cherry blossoms, peonies and Mother's Day (now that I'm a mum).

    ReplyDelete
  65. I am now a follower of your blog

    ReplyDelete
  66. My new favorite race length is a 1/2 marathon because it seems worth the money. Anything less just does seem work the $30-45. I ran my first half in March and loved every mile of it. I then registered for my second half which will be mid June.

  67. wow comments have never been easier- I love love love the month of may b.c it's your birthday, it's my birthday (may28), my boyfriend's birthday (may30th) and my sister's birthday (may4th). I also love that the weather begins to change (I can run more and earlier). LOVE MAY. I love the name May too b.c that was my boyfriends nieces name. Hence my username/blogname. She passed away in 2008 from a rare disease, Kawasaki disease. Therefore, I am trying to raise money for Children's Memorial where she passed in hopes to find a cure and a cause to the rare disease so no more children have to die from it. I will be running with the Children's Memorial Marathon Team for the Chicago Marathon on 10.10.10 which will be my first full. So excited. Hope to reach my fundraising goal.

  72. My favorite mile race is probably a 1/2 marathon. It gets me in a good training mode but doesn't take as much time to train for as a full. I will be running my fourth half at the end of this month.

    ReplyDelete
  73. I love May because the pool opens in our nearby neighborhood! I love lazy days by the pool!

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete

  85. Right now I LOVE the 5k distance, I did complete my first half marathon and could possibly see myself liking that distance in the future!

    ReplyDelete
  86. May is a good month for many reasons,
    Mothers Day
    Last month of school
    Beatiful flowers start blooming
    Memorial Day
    Your Bday, my papaw's bday
Just to name a few of the reasons!!

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  88. May is fantastic because my birthday is MAY 9 (my husband's is May 21).

    ReplyDelete
  89. My fave race distance is a 10 miler . . . they are not too common, but I think they are the perfect distance. You do not have to run as fast as you would in a 5K or 10K, and yet they are not as hard as a half marathon . . . before you know it you are done!

    ReplyDelete
  90. May is the best month because the flowers are in bloom and it is garden planting time!

    ReplyDelete
  91. favorite distance. ehh 15 milers. 13.1 is not enough but 26.2 killls me. i would love 26.2 if i had some recovery socks at the end though!

    ReplyDelete
  92. may is wonderful because of all the flowers that april showers brought. the pollen though -- not so much!!

    ReplyDelete
  93. Gotcha posted on my blog. I'm seriously excited about these. I've never tried them! They would make my calves happy during my relay race in June!

    ReplyDelete
  94. I've really gotten into the speed lately so the 5k and 10k are my favorite right now. Although there's a 15k I do in July that is PERFECT. Not super long but if I have a slow mile there's plenty of make up time.

    ReplyDelete
  95. Why do I love May? Because it marks the end of the school year. Let summer begin!

    ReplyDelete
  96. I'm a new follower (although I thought I was following you already.)

    ReplyDelete
  97. My favorite distance so far has been the half marathon. Long enough to be worth the drive, but short enough that I'm not convinced that death is following me around.

    ReplyDelete
  98. May is the greatest month for me because I'll finishing my horrible Spring Semester Grad classes.

    ReplyDelete

Right now my favorite race distance is a half. However I'm getting ready to run a 10K soon which will be my first ever 10K run so I might end up liking that!

    ReplyDelete
  101. i have only done 5k, 5mile, and 10k. so far i think i like 5k the best....the pain is over quicker LOL

    ReplyDelete
  102. may is a great running month because the weather here in NC is usually pretty mild, the sun starts coming up a little earlier not making the morning runs so dark and depressing, and there are TONS of races....and of course its a great B-day month, my hubby's b-day is also in may :)

    ReplyDelete
  103. i posted on my weekly recap www.myreasontorun.blogspot.com

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  105. My favorite race is the 5K, mostly because I've never run anything longer. I'll run my first half this summer and I think I have a 10K in the works, so we'll see.

    ReplyDelete
  106. I enjoy May because the rain here in Eugene lets up a bit, the temperatures get warmer and all the flowers come out. Also, mother's day and the Eugene marathon and the end of my husband's law school... forever! Hooray!

    ReplyDelete
  107. Linked you up on my sidebar. Great giveaway, thanks!
