ReplyDeleteMy favorite distance is the half marathon, because you can use the speed of a shorter race, but you have the time and distance to make some decent moves/surges throughout the race.
ReplyDeleteMay is wonderful because Mother's Day is in it, and our mothers are all so wonderful.
ReplyDeleteFollower :)
ReplyDeleteSo far I've only ran 10k and 5k so out of the two 10k is my fav because it feels like you're in it long enough to be worth the money you paid for it :) however...these long distances are growing on me as I get near my half marathon...
ReplyDeleteWhy isn't May a great month. A whole day dedicated to drinking margaritas and eating awesome food ;), cool enough to open the windows, but warm enough for shorts, and of course it's the month that preceeds my birth month so it can be cool too. :)
ReplyDeleteLinked it on my blog

ReplyDeleteI love the half marathon. It's long enough to be challenging, but short enough to allow for a strong training plan while balancing everything else in life.
ReplyDeleteI love May because 15 years ago in May I married my best friend - and I still like him after all this time!
ReplyDeleteI am a follower
ReplyDeleteI'll just say my favorite distance is a 5k. I'm running my first one this Saturday, but my long term goal is a half marathon
ReplyDeleteI am already a loyal follower! Congrats on 50!
ReplyDeleteI like May because it is the start of summer break and as a grad school student, I definitely need that break!
ReplyDeleteI am a follower!
ReplyDeleteI like 13.1 for now since its the the longest race I did last year but I have a full marathon planned for October! I am already thinking 26.2!
ReplyDeleteMy fav distance is my 50k trail ultra. I don't think I ever had so much fun in a race! The atmosphere was completely different from other race I have run. 12 marathons and counting, loads of other races of a variety of lenghts so I have a lot to compare it to. It was probably the trail/ultra aspect that made it so enjoyable.
ReplyDeleteLinky love coming your way with my next post!
ReplyDeleteWhy is May wonderful? This year, easy! May 1st and I already ran a trail race!
ReplyDeleteMay is wonderful because my dear one's birthday is on cinco de mayo!
ReplyDeleteI posted a link to my blogs sidebar!
ReplyDeleteI tweeted about this giveaway!! I love recovery socks!

ReplyDeleteI love May because we can finally shed our winter running gear and get down to shorts/skirts and short sleeves. That alone brings down the pace.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite distance is 10 miles - long enough to give me an endurance push, and a doable one with kids. It's short enough that I can add some speed to it.
ReplyDeleteI follow
ReplyDeleteI have only ever raced 5Ks and and overnight Relay....running my first half soon though...so I guess my fave distance right now is 5K, but we'll see as I get more adventurous and try new distances.
ReplyDeleteIt is the greatest month because it's my Birthday too! Happy Birthday to me and you!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on 50!
ReplyDeleteAlready a follower of course!
Best race distance depends on the day. Now i'll say half marathon.

ReplyDeletei love may because the sun is up so many hours of the day but its not as hot and humid as may...
ReplyDeleteI follow on Google Reader.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite race distance is 15K. It's long enough to get really going, but short enough not to get too worn out!
ReplyDeleteMay is the greatest month, because I'm a teacher; and I'm on the verge of summer break!
ReplyDeleteI linked! Thanks for so many chances to win. I love recovery socks!!!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your 50th post! I am not going to enter since I already have a pair (love them) but I will post it to my blog.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on sticking with running for 50 posts. I totally agree that May is the best month too. May baby here (actually today is my birthday) and I'm all about celebrating it with cinco de mayo :) All of the flowers are in bloom and everyone is gearing up for a relaxing summer. Just a wonderful month all around. I'm not entering the giveaway--just wanted to say here's to another 50 posts :)
ReplyDeleteI'm a follower of your blog.
ReplyDeleteI'm still figuring out which race distance is my favorite. I rarely race, so it makes it hard to pick a favorite. I really like runs that are 7-10 miles…so maybe I should try a 15K to run sometime.
ReplyDeleteMay is great because it is your birthday month. Otherwise, it is the beginning of gardening season around here. I love gardening even more than running.
ReplyDeleteNew follower, Shelly sent me:)
ReplyDeleteI'd say the half marathon, just because it makes me feel accomplished.
ReplyDeleteOctober is my favorite month, the weather is perfect down South, and the leaves are changing. And my little girl was born in October too.
ReplyDeleteI'm a follower!
ReplyDeleteI posted on FB.
ReplyDeleteMay rocks because it's also my Dad's birthday month. And it's that perfect pre-summer time before it gets stiflingly hot.
ReplyDeleteI've only done 5k and a 4-miler. I liked the 4....hoping to do a 10k or 2 this fall, and then maybe a half in December.
ReplyDeleteI'm posting this on my blog.
ReplyDeleteI like the 10k... and I hope to make the marathon my favorite in Oct.
ReplyDeleteI like May because (it is your birthday) school is almost out and I get my kids back!
ReplyDeleteMay is the best month because it is the month that my first baby was born!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite race distance is the 8K. It usually takes me 3 miles to feel warm up and by that point in the race I usually feel like I can push it for the last two!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on 50 and all of your accomplishments! I am a follower!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite distance..hmmm....I guess I should say 5K since that is what I'm about to run! :)
ReplyDeleteI love May because my only son was born in this month! And also Memorial Day marks the beginning of summer for me!
ReplyDeleteI am a follower :)
ReplyDeleteI think my favorite distance is the 10K. I feel my best between miles 4-6. A 5K is too short because I am just getting warmed up when it ends.
ReplyDeleteI like May because the flowers really start to pop and the world is full of color. I love seeing the plants come alive on my runs.
ReplyDeletei am a follower :)
ReplyDeletei guess my favorite race distance is the 5k since it is the only distance i have actually raced. :)
ReplyDeleteMay is the greatest month because my wedding anniversary is May 16th.
ReplyDeleteI'm a follower!
ReplyDeleteI have only run one half marathon (used it as a training run, so ran 7 miles before), but I loved it!
ReplyDeleteMay is the best month because this is the month I graduate with my undergrad degree. Woot!
ReplyDeleteI am a follower now
ReplyDeleteMy favorite distance is the half because it gives me time to warm up...but not so much time running that I'm too pooped to vacation when we are done.
ReplyDeleteI love may because it is the start of sitting outside on the patio in the evenings with friends
ReplyDeletelinked back! http://runtothefinish.blogspot.com/2010/05/travel-buggers.html
ReplyDeleteHoly cow I am LATE to this one.. I am a Follower.. 50 posts.. CONGRATS
ReplyDeleteHmmmm...favorite race distance. After running the Marathon I sorta miss 5K's :)
ReplyDeleteMay is the month before my birthday...that is why I love it.. I also love that the weather is getting warmer but not too warm.
ReplyDeletelol about #4 :) bring on 13.1!!
ReplyDeletecongrats on 50 posts! great giveaway - i already have 2 pairs of recovery socks so i will leave this for someone else to win - they are awesome!
I haven't run a race yet, so I'm gonna say a 5K is my favorite, because it's the shortest :)
ReplyDeleteBesides being your birthday month, May is also the birthday month of my two youngest daughters, my mom, my grandma and my best friend!
ReplyDeleteI've linked to your giveaway on my sidebar!
ReplyDeleteNew follower!
ReplyDeleteSo far the 1/2 is my favourite, but that's just because I haven't run the marathon yet. :) I love pushing myself to run that far - not that 5/10k's aren't great, but they're over so fast - and I get "me" time for 2 hours!
ReplyDeleteMay is great because of cherry blossoms, peonies and Mother's Day (now that I'm a mum).
ReplyDeleteI am now a follower of your blog
ReplyDeleteMy new favorite race length is a 1/2 marathon because it seems worth the money. Anything less just does seem work the $30-45. I ran my first half in March and loved every mile of it. I then registered for my second half which will be mid June.
ReplyDeletewow comments have never been easier- I love love love the month of may b.c it's your birthday, it's my birthday (may28), my boyfriend's birthday (may30th) and my sister's birthday (may4th). I also love that the weather begins to change (I can run more and earlier). LOVE MAY. I love the name May too b.c that was my boyfriends nieces name. Hence my username/blogname. She passed away in 2008 from a rare disease, Kawasaki disease. Therefore, I am trying to raise money for Children's Memorial where she passed in hopes to find a cure and a cause to the rare disease so no more children have to die from it. I will be running with the Children's Memorial Marathon Team for the Chicago Marathon on 10.10.10 which will be my first full. So excited. Hope to reach my fundraising goal.

ReplyDeleteMy favorite mile race is probably a 1/2 marathon. It gets me in a good training mode but doesn't take as much time to train for as a full. I will be running my fourth half at the end of this month.
ReplyDeleteI love May because the pool opens in our nearby neighborhood! I love lazy days by the pool!
ReplyDeleteI'm already a follower =)
ReplyDeleteI love May because it means school is over and summer is here =) The joys of still being in college
ReplyDeletefavorite distance...this is a hard question but I would actually say the half marathon. you learn so much about yourself in those 13.1 miles
ReplyDeletewill post back on Sunday FunDay =)
ReplyDeletefollower!
ReplyDelete5ks and 10ks are fun, and the mile! Really loved the half marathon too.
ReplyDeleteMay is great because the warm weather starts happening!
ReplyDeleteLinking in my next post!
ReplyDeleteNow a follower. :)
ReplyDeleteMy favorite race distance is the 10K - far enough to feel you really made an effort, but not so far that it destroys you.
ReplyDeleteMay is great because it has Mother's Day - love to share that with my wife and kids.
ReplyDeleteTweeted the giveaway.
ReplyDeleteI also friended you on DM - great website!
Hey
ReplyDeleteI am follower :)
My favorite is 10k, because it is just the right distance for me :D
Right now I LOVE the 5k distance, I did complete my first half marathon and could possibly see myself liking that distance in the future!
ReplyDeleteMay is a good month for many reasons,
ReplyDeleteMothers Day
Last month of school
Beatiful flowers start blooming
Memorial Day
Your Bday, my papaw's bday
Just to name a few of the reasons!!

ReplyDelete5k is favorite - I've only done that & 3.5 miles.
ReplyDeleteMay is fantastic because my birthday is MAY 9 (my husband's is May 21).
ReplyDeleteI tweeted it too.
ReplyDeleteI follow you!
ReplyDeleteMy fave race distance is a 10 miler . . . they are not too common, but I think they are the perfect distance. You do not have to run as fast as you would in a 5K or 10K, and yet they are not as hard as a half marathon . . . before you know it you are done!
ReplyDeleteMay is the best month because the flowers are in bloom and it is garden planting time!
ReplyDeleteI am a new follower!!
ReplyDeletefavorite distance. ehh 15 milers. 13.1 is not enough but 26.2 killls me. i would love 26.2 if i had some recovery socks at the end though!
ReplyDeletemay is wonderful because of all the flowers that april showers brought. the pollen though -- not so much!!
ReplyDeleteIma followin'!
ReplyDeleteGotcha posted on my blog. I'm seriously excited about these. I've never tried them! They would make my calves happy during my relay race in June!
ReplyDeleteI've really gotten into the speed lately so the 5k and 10k are my favorite right now. Although there's a 15k I do in July that is PERFECT. Not super long but if I have a slow mile there's plenty of make up time.
ReplyDeleteWhy do I love May? Because it marks the end of the school year. Let summer begin!
ReplyDeleteI'm a new follower (although I thought I was following you already.)
ReplyDeleteMy favorite distance so far has been the half marathon. Long enough to be worth the drive, but short enough that I'm not convinced that death is following me around.
ReplyDeleteMay is the greatest month for me because I'll finishing my horrible Spring Semester Grad classes.
ReplyDeletePosted about your giveaway in my blog's sidebar. Filly Runner
ReplyDeleteI have you in my google reader, does that count as a follow? :) I have been dying to try some recovery socks! I'm looking to purchase some to wear after my long runs. Right now my favorite race distance is a half. However I'm getting ready to run a 10K soon which will be my first ever 10K run so I might end up liking that!
ReplyDeleteim a current follower :)
ReplyDeletei have only done 5k, 5mile, and 10k. so far i think i like 5k the best....the pain is over quicker LOL
ReplyDeletemay is a great running month because the weather here in NC is usually pretty mild, the sun starts coming up a little earlier not making the morning runs so dark and depressing, and there are TONS of races....and of course its a great B-day month, my hubby's b-day is also in may :)
ReplyDeletei posted on my weekly recap www.myreasontorun.blogspot.com

ReplyDeleteI'm a new follower. Found your blog from "My Reason to Run". Great job with 50 posts!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite race is the 5K, mostly because I've never run anything longer. I'll run my first half this summer and I think I have a 10K in the works, so we'll see.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy May because the rain here in Eugene lets up a bit, the temperatures get warmer and all the flowers come out. Also, mother's day and the Eugene marathon and the end of my husband's law school... forever! Hooray!
ReplyDeleteLinked you up on my sidebar. Great giveaway, thanks!

ReplyDeleteI love May because that is the month when the weather starts to improve & everything starts to grow. I love all of the green and more opportunities to run outside. It's also when the race/running events start to pick up.
