Hello Bloggers!
I know it has been a few weeks and I had promised to be better about running and blogging, but if I am being honest life has been very busy and both of those things got sent to the back burner.
Well, I got to thinking and I realized that I have forgotten to put myself first and how much happier everyone is when Mommy runs, I knew it would be tough to pick up and run again because running it just that.......... tough, but today after dropping Little missy at school, Itty bitty and I hit the trail!
We loved it! It was a beautiful 65 degrees and breezy and it was just a beautiful, but slow run, Mile 1 was 11:26 and mile 2 11:43 I am ok with this I will accept that I have lost considerable amount of fitness over the last few months, but as soon as I was done that euphoria, that high...the looking down at my calves and saying yeahhh baby all came back!
I should also mention I have to take things slower because we are expecting baby #3!!!! but I think this has also given me reason to get back out there and stay in shape...so this is where the advice comes in..I know many of you amazing runners were pregnant running mommies, what are your best tips???
Well that in short is a quick catch up as too what has been happening around this house! I have to run off and do something else before the day gets away! I hope all is well with everyone and school has been treating you well!!
Congratulations!!! Good luck with the pregnant running. I'm sure lots of others will give you advice, as I have zero experience with that.
ReplyDeleteFirst off, CONGRATS on expecting another little one!!! That's fantastic! And seriously, way to go on running on today! Just getting out there is what really counts. :)
ReplyDeleteAs a current prego runner (kind of sidelined by round ligament issues), I know that it may be tough to get out there, especially if your pace isn't what it used to be. Just remember the best thing to do is to listen to your body. Don't worry about pace at all, just think about getting that run in. If you feel the need to walk, then definitely walk. Try not to push yourself too hard. Now you're running for two! :)
I also recommend the maternity skirts at RunningSkirts.com...they totally make the belly feel better when running!
How exciting!! Can't wait to see how everything goes for you now!
Congratulations! What big news! I ran through both of my pregnancies with no trouble. I did slow down a heap, kept it short, and stayed out of the heat. And don't forget that hydration is more important than before!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with it--you'll love how quickly you bounce back afterward!
Congratulations! The newest Runner's World is all about pregnancy and running, definitely pick it up.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!! I have been a total slug during my pregnancies, except for walking, so I have no advice. Great job on getting out there and running today. Do not worry about your time, just take it easy and get out there and do what you can.
ReplyDeletecongrats!
ReplyDeleteCongrats!!!! Welcome back. I missed out on the running thing when I was pregnant. I discovered it afterwards. I would think if you listen to your body you should keep at it. Just enjoy it.
ReplyDeleteWay to keep running! As a newbie runner, I haven't ran through any of my five pregnancies. If we are blessed again, I definitely will continue running.
ReplyDeleteKeep listening to your body.
